Popular Nigerian social media personality Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, is mourning the death of her second son, Bryan, while still in custody in Lagos.
The development was made public on Friday by Amira Agiye, founder of Isaamira Love Foundation, who appealed for assistance on behalf of the detained influencer.
Agiye said Blessing CEO was dealing with the death of her son while also trying to secure her release from custody.
In a voice recording shared by Agiye, Blessing CEO confirmed that Bryan had died and spoke about her desire to return home so she could mourn him and give him a proper farewell.
She described her son as a lively child and expressed hope that she would soon regain her freedom.
The reported death has added a painful personal dimension to the legal battle that has kept the social media personality in custody.
Blessing CEO is facing a property-related fraud case brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.
The EFCC alleges that she obtained N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited after claiming that she could help the company secure a property in Lekki.
She pleaded not guilty to the allegations, which have yet to be established by the court.
In July 2026, the court granted Blessing CEO bail of N20 million. The bail conditions included two sureties who must each meet the required financial conditions.
The court also required evidence of deposits or fixed deposits valued at N20 million over a three-year period.
Reports indicate that she has remained in custody because the bail conditions have not yet been fulfilled.
Her continued detention has prompted appeals from supporters and individuals seeking to assist her in meeting the requirements for release.
Agiye said efforts were being made to raise the money needed to satisfy the bail conditions. She also referred to another N36 million connected to a separate legal matter involving the influencer.
Following the reported death of Bryan, the appeal for assistance has taken on a more urgent tone.
Blessing CEO, who rose to prominence through relationship commentary and outspoken social media content, has built a large following in Nigeria’s online community.
Her current legal troubles, however, have shifted attention from her social media career to the criminal proceedings before the court.
The EFCC allegations remain before the court, and Blessing CEO is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
