Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has explained why he has been noticeably quiet on the music scene this year.
The singer, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, said his decision to take a break was linked to the death of his mother.
Kizz Daniel disclosed this while responding to a fan on X on Friday.
The fan had suggested that the singer might have been away because he was busy working on another album.
However, Kizz Daniel dismissed the assumption, explaining that his absence was prompted by a much more personal reason.
“I paused for my Mom, not an album,” he said.
The singer revealed that he lost his mother earlier this year and needed to step back before returning to his career.
He added that he had to remain strong and continue moving forward for the rest of his family.
“Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family,” he added, while apologising to his fans for his late return to the music scene this year.
Kizz Daniel’s disclosure comes about a year after he revealed that his wife had also lost her mother in 2024.
The singer has continued to maintain a relatively low profile while dealing with the loss.
